Liara Romance Mass Effect 1 and 2 The Story so Far Part 1
Leonard Bernstein’s musical update of Romeo and Juliet, with a young Stephen Sondheim’s brilliant lyrics, had already galvanized Broadway with its vivid reinvention as a parable of racial intolerance and generational conflict. But director Robert Wise’s lavish widescreen presentation broke fresh ground by taking the story to its most impressionable audience, the teenagers who could identify direct…
Maverick director Michael Winterbottom wondered about the double standard of why novels can have explicit sex scenes and be legit and films could not. So his short film of a relationship based solely on sex and a love for music is the result of that thought. If the definition of a porn film is to shoot actors performing graphic sex scenes for real, then 9 Songs qualifies. It certainly doesn’t fee…
Ranking just behind the best of animator Don Bluth’s films (Anastasia and The Secret of NIMH), Thumbelina is a bubble-light version of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale. The finger-sized heroine goes about the old-fashioned trials of trying to find a good man, but the film is clever enough to make it endearing for the 3-6 set and more than passable for adult viewers. Barry Manilow provides much…
Set in and around a quaint French village during the late 18th century, Beauty and the Beast follows the fantastic adventures of Belle, a brightand beautiful young woman who finds escape from her ordinary life, and the advances of a boorish suitor, Gaston, by reading books. Meanwhile, off in a castle in the distance, a cruel young prince is cast under the spell of an enchantress who turns him into…
Disney’s 1959 animated effort was the studio’s most ambitious to date, a widescreen spectacle boasting a gorgeous waltz-filled score adapting Tchaikovsky. In the 14th century, the malevolent Maleficent (not dissimilar to the wicked Queen in Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs taunts a king that his infant Aurora will fatally prick her finger on a spinning wheel before sundown on her 16th birt…
I have read a lot of romance novels. When I say that I literally mean hundreds. I prefer historical but my reading range is very wide. I have read paranormal, vampire, futuristic, shape shifters, contemporary, basically every type of romance genre you can think of. As long as it has a good plot and likeable characters I will read it. So having read so many books it takes a lot for me to actually consider a novel to be exceptional. The criterias for such a book would have to be: -I think about the characters long after the book is finished -I laughed with them and I cried with them and I felt as if every moment affected me as deeply as it affected them -I read the book over and over again and years after I still would read it over again -I will just be at it, barely breaking to eat or do anything and then when it is finished I am upset There is only one romance novel I have ever read out of all the hundreds that accomplished all these things. That book is Once & Always by Judith McNaught.
Judith McNaught in general is an excellent writer. I have yet to read a novel by her that I did not absolutely love. But this one in particular resonated deeply with me. I read this novel ten years ago and it still is the best romance novel I have ever read. I borrowed it from a friend first and ended up reading it six times. And then I went out and bought it a few years later because I needed to read it again. Once & Always I believe is the love story of all time. It made me want to fall in love before I even knew what love was.
If you love a great historical romance with strong characters that are intensely and passionately just awesome for each other in every way even though they made you both laugh and cry through the whole process of their relationship development then this novel is definitely worth a checking out. Once and always will definitely become your once and always too.

***ROMEO & JULIET (1968, Widescreen, 138 min) ~ Franco Zeffirelli’s 1968 adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet was unique in its day for casting teenagers. 17-year-old Leonard Whiting and 15-year-old Olivia Hussey play the titular pair, the Bard’s star-crossed lovers who defy a running feud between their families in order to be together in love. Typically played on stage and in previous fil…
I am looking for two romance novels…would anyone know what they are called?
First Book – A young lady is engaged to be married; however, when she takes her boat out, she is kidnapped by a man who is close friends of her father’s. He destroys her boat and makes it look like she was killed in an accident and then takes her away to his home in another country. He has been watching her for years and has had this planned for a very long time. He wants her for himself and keeps her captive.
Second Book – A young woman dives into her pool, but when she comes up she finds she is in a pond of some kind one hundred years in the past. She has to travel across the states and does so as a nanny taking care of a widower’s young children. She keeps a journal of the whole thing.
Please let me know if you can help!! Thank you!!
The second book sounds like “Journey to Yesterday” by June Lund Shiplett
” “Stacy Gordon tried to tell herself this could not be happening to
her. Suddenly she was no longer the contented wife of a brilliant
architect. Instead she had been spirited away to the 19th-century
frontier–and into the arms of a handsome man who made her forget who she
really was.”
“…her husband in “now” time was a dentist…and she dives in this
pool in there house..and then when she comes up she’s in a mudhole in
Texas”

A Beautiful Virgin’s Ravishment and Wild Abandon in a Lustful Lord’s Harem is a beautiful work of classic erotic literature. It is elegantly written as a series of arousing and charming letters, by a formerly innocent English lady (virgin) to her friend. She describes in explicitly intimate detail her capture by an Islamic lord who introduces her to the art of eroticism, awakening her strong sexua…

In Haints, Arthur Redding examines the work of contemporary American authors who draw on the gothic tradition in their fiction, not as frivolous or supernatural entertainments, but to explore and memorialize the ghosts of their heritage. Ghosts, Redding argues, serve as lasting witnesses to the legacies of slaves and indigenous peoples whose stories were lost in the remembrance or mistranslation …

In yet another example of Demi Moore’s astonishing narcissism, this appalling adaptation of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Great American Novel becomes a teary, talk-show-worthy story of a woman rediscovering the erotic, of interrupted love, of a brave-but-beleaguered heroine’s personal struggle against male stupidity. Never mind that this has little to do with Hawthorne’s magnificent, protofeminist book, …
Its ads portrayed it as a wacky farce, while critics largely ignored it, presuming it to be a vanity project from Kate Capshaw (better known as Mrs. Steven Spielberg). But The Love Letter is neither; on the contrary, it’s a low-key but surprisingly rich and touching film about love, illusions, and regret. Helen (Capshaw), a bookseller in a small seashore town, discovers an unsigned love letter tha…
